The projects Basetime is working on: an overview

Since the official start of Basetime, we have carried out various projects. We have left the test phase behind us, and clients know where to find us. We are proud of this, and it is what sets us apart.

Most of the projects involve automated measurements of settlement rods with the Locator One. In addition, we also use the devices in monitoring sheet piles and measuring the water level during dredging operations, for example. We would like to give you an idea of the projects we are involved in, so we made the overview below.

Dike reinforcement Markermeerdijken
Commissioned by: Boskalis/Alliantie Markermeerdijken
Year of implementation: 2022
We are conducting an extensive pilot on this project, which sees the Markerkmeerdijken being reinforced, so that Boskalis can test our system to its limit. These dikes are a special place for us, as we conducted our first tests here in 2019.

Averijhaven
Commissioned by: Van Oord
Year of implementation: 2021-2022
In this project we use the Locator One for a completely different purpose, namely the active monitoring of the water level. By measuring every 15 minutes, our client can monitor the effects of the dredging and pumping operations on the water level.

N444
Commissioned by: Heijmans
Year of implementation: 2021
To monitor the Voorhout bypass, we installed several devices to monitor the settlement rods of the new road that was built. Heijmans used this information to optimize the connection with its own systems.

Westergouwe III
Commissioned by: Boskalis
Year of implementation: 2021
In this pilot project, in which a new residential area was being built near Gouda, we were able to record an extremely large settlement over several months.

Groene Boog
Commissioned by: Van Oord
Year of implementation: 2021
During several months, we carried out extensive tests on this project for the construction of the A16 highway near Rotterdam, with which we optimized our system for the automated measurement of settlement rods. The results led to our current product, the Locator One.

Amaliahaven
Commissioned by: Van Oord/Hochtief/Ballast Nedam, rent via Boels
Year of implementation: 2021-2022
We monitor the construction and elevation of the Amaliahaven, a port in Rotterdam, using about 30 of our Locator Ones. By connecting the devices to the client’s system, they are fully informed and able to actively make the adjustments that are needed.

Alexiahaven
Commissioned by: Van Oord
Year of implementation: 2022-2023
In addition to the Amaliahaven, we will also be active in another port soon, the Alexiahaven. This is a similar project, where we will also deploy dozens of Locator Ones.

Blankenburgverbinding
Commissioned by: BAAK
Year of implementation: 2021
We have extensively tested our devices at the Blankenburgverbinding, the new highway that will connect the A20 and A15 highways. The settlement has been monitored for several months, in collaboration with Ballast Nedam. In doing so, Ballast Nedam have gained a great deal of insights into the method behind automated measuring of settlement rods.

Quayside monitoring
Commissioned by: Havenbedrijf Rotterdam
Year of implementation: 2022
In this project we will be applying the Locator One in a different way: we will automatically monitor quay walls for movement in two locations, in both the horizontal and vertical plane. Thus, Havenbedrijf Rotterdam will have more control over their quay walls.

Dike reinforcement Gorinchem Waardenburg
Commissioned by: Gralliantie
Year of implementation: 2021-2025
In the coming years, the dike between Gorinchem and Waardenburg will be raised, widened, and strengthened over a length of 23 kilometers. We have placed a few hundred Locator Ones here to actively monitor the expected settlement during construction. If you would like to read more about this project, check out the article that appeared in GWW magazine.

Industriehaven Den Bosch
Commissioned by: Landmeetkundig en adviesbureau Meet B.V., rent via Boels
Year of implementation: 2022-2023
One of the former harbors at the Brabanthallen in Den Bosch is being filled in and converted into a parking lot. GMB Civiel is carrying out this work and on behalf of Meet B.V., sixteen Locator Ones have been installed to monitor the work.
