As Basetime continues to grow with new colleagues and fresh expertise, we believe it’s just as important to recognise the people who have shaped our organisation from day one. To begin our Colleagues in the Spotlights series, we are proud to feature one of our founders: Eltjo Keijer.
Eltjo has been part of Basetime from the very beginning. As a co-founder, he played a key role in establishing the vision, technology, and direction that set the foundation for what Basetime is today.
What Eltjo enjoys most about working at Basetime
The variety of challenges. The broad range of topics and projects ensures his work remains dynamic and continually stimulates creativity and problem-solving.
What energises him in his work
Driving through the Netherlands and recognising Basetime devices in the field: often unexpectedly. Hearing from friends and family who spot them as well reinforces the impact of Basetime’s solutions and motivates him every day.
The impact he strives to make
Eltjo aims to make the world a little better, and easier, through Basetime’s solutions. By providing accurate and timely information, he wants to empower customers and end users to make faster, better-informed decisions.
Why he still enjoys working at Basetime
The continuously growing and diverse team. Working collaboratively to further develop Basetime’s products, combining different perspectives, backgrounds, and ideas, remains a strong source of motivation for him.
What he is most proud of
The evolution of the Locator One. Initially developed for automated settlement rod measurements, it has become so standard in 2025 that customers now consider it indispensable. Eltjo is determined to achieve this same level of adoption in other applications.
Outside the office
He enjoys spending quality time with his daughter, especially outdoors. You’ll often find him on his road bike or gravel bike, appreciating nature, freedom, and mental clarity.
